Friday Foto Finder; Reptile

Almost as ancient as the land he walks on.

The Monitor Lizard

Up to eight feet long and capable of 25mph.

But almost completely harmless. Unless frightened.

Then he climbs the nearest high thing with his sharp claws.

If there are no trees and you are standing there – – –

Friday Foto Finder; Lair

Most lairs are quiet, cute places.
This one wasn’t.
We were all walking along a rocky beach, many bare feet.

Suddenly I looked down and saw this.
Yes. One of the many venomous snakes we have in Australia.

And I was barefoot!

Coiled in its own little lair.

Friday Foto Finder; Beginning

While our “Beginning” is often considered to be at the summer or winter solstice,
plants consider the beginning to be near the spring equinox.

So here is a memory from a past spring solstice

At the beginning of a new, human, year.

Happy New Year, Foto Finders.
