A lover of travel, I am addicted to Mile Markers.
In my youth there were mile markers all along every main highway, all marking the distance from the Post Office in Perth.
As I learned more of the world I discovered that it was the Romans who began erecting Mile Stones on their roads to show how far it was to Rome. Excepting those weren’t measuring miles but leagues.
Even now, I spot one of these markers and I am drawn off into travels. Not just my own physical travels but the travels of others that I have read about.
Travels to all parts of the world, some punctuated with Mile Stones and some without.
Yes, I find these distance markers to be evocative.
This one was in a little town called Nannup, south of Perth.
Have you an evocative image you wish to share?

Next week the challenge will be to find something to match the word “Right”
