Having spent time living with Indigenous people in the Australian Outback I was fascinated by many of their customs.
The one which really caught my attention, and which I failed at when I attempted it was carving Emu Eggs.
Here, in the hands of a master carver, is a Honey-Possum in a Eucalypt tree coming out of the shell of this egg. George was using a small steel pen-knife. His ancestors used sharp stones.
This was one of a series of twelve he was doing on commission. The old ones had magic. These modern ones do a magic to bank balances 🙂
So What customs can you show us?
Leave a comment and a link here and we can all come and see.
Next week Friday Foto Finders will be looking for a STAR.
