My favourite tree is the Morton Bay Fig Tree.
From Queensland, it has been used as a shade provider and, in older age, becomes a statement in Perth.
As a true Fig, its fruit is edible by both humans and by many, many critters, ranging from possums to parrots.
This one is around 110 years old and is in Kings Park. The row of Eucalypts behind are a part of our “tree memorials” which has thousands of trees lining the roads though the park. Each one commemorates one of our fallen soldiers.
I like them, not just for the shade and its spreading habit but because of its spectacular roots.
They provide stability for the tree and shelter and small caves for people and for critters.
What tree have you photographed?
Leave a comment and a link here and we can all come and see.
Next week the challenge will be to show a PET.

Wow, that is a really incredible tree. I would love to be able to get close to those roots. Spectacular, indeed!
