I found this old mailbox in one of the main streets of Busselton, a coastal town some 230Km south of Perth.
A reminder of the formality and importance attached to letters and the mail in times past. Its Victorian pomposity is wonderful.
While this was a working letter box back in 2004 when I took the photo, I have no idea if it is still in operation.
